Swine Flu-Personal Thoughts

This has been a big topic in the news and in the schools. The best thing that you can do is stay out of confined spaces, wash your hands regularly, and practice sanitary ways of living. I don't think that the Swine Flu is a large problem. It is more of a scare and worry of society, and not something that we should panic about. It is something that we need to be aware of, but nothing that we should overly worry ourselves about. People have a tendency to think that even the slightest cough could be signs of swine flu. Students in the schools should practice washing hands as much as possible before meals and bathroom breaks. This should be no different then usual though. Be careful and stay healthy. Post back if you have any questions or concerns.

Learning Journal

This is a reflection to the lesson on Thursday. If you are still having problems remembering your addresses or phone numbers post to this and tell me the main problem that you are having? What you should do if you are having problems is to break the address or phone number down into parts. For instance 913-245-6780. Break this number down into 3 parts and remember each as a group. After you have remembered one group move onto the next. Ex: 913.......245....then add them together.....913-245 before moving onto the next part. Do the same thing with your address. Ex: 1401 College Ave. Please post me any questions you may have so that I can help you or set up a time to meet with me in class.

Story Time

I was born at Ft. Benning, GA back in 1987 and had the opportunity to attend Kindergarten and 1st grade in Frankfurt, Germany. I lot of things have led up to where I am at today. Injuries, hardships, trials, and successes, have all paved the way to where I am and who I am today. My parents live in Lansing, KS, where I have been raised. I have had the opportunity to do many things in life that most never get in their lives. Being that this story could take all day long, I will keep in simple and just focus on how all of this has shaped my mindset. Being able to travel around the country and see so many different aspects of life I have gained a greater understanding of the way the world works. I believe that people have the power to do anything that they want, the problem is that most people get confused or lose focus through some of the trials and tribulations that they face. Living in a bad area, not having money, parents that don't care, and many other things play a factor in who people grow up to be. It takes a very tough person mentally to be able to overcome the hardships of life. Most people are not that tough and that is why things in the school system and life in general have not changed for quite some time. The students that I have met over the years have been willing to learn and find ways out of the lives they are living, they just don't know how to do it because that is all they know and there is noone to help them escape. That is the reason that I felt being an educator would be a good fit for my life. I enjoy helping the students and helping people in general find better lives and giving them the resources to succeed. Being an educator is a blessing because on a daily basis you can change the lives of all of the young minds around you. Hopefully the influence that I will have on the students will be known many years down the road.
